In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, the City of Fort St. John has moved to weekly garbage collection and bi-weekly recycling collection. As collection will occur on the same day, please ensure there are two metres between your carts and the lids are closed.

Each residential home in Fort St. John is supplied with one grey garbage cart and one blue recycle cart. This service is not provided for commercial properties. The contractor empties the carts using collection vehicles equipped with an articulated arm. Collection is bi-weekly, meaning garbage is collected one week and recycling is collected the next week.
